Having been spotted in various leaks before now, it comes as little surprise to see Motorola officially announce their latest Android smartphone, the Motorola CHARM.  Due to arrive on T-Mobile USA this summer, the CHARM has a 2.8-inch touchscreen with a full QWERTY keyboard underneath; it runs Android 2.1 with the latest iteration of Motorola’s MOTOBLUR social networking aggregation.


Verizon, Motorola and Google have officially announced the DROID X, the latest Android smartphone and something of a multimedia powerhouse.  Powered by a 1GHz processor, the DROID X has 8GB of ROM, a 4.3-inch 854 x 480 capacitive touchscreen and will come with a 16GB microSD card preloaded for a total of 24GB storage; that’s useful, as the phone also has an 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.


Samsung has outed a pair of new Android-powered smartphones, the Galaxy 3 I5800 and the Galaxy 5 I5500.  The Galaxy 5 has a compact 2.8-inch QVGA display, making for one of the smallest Android devices around, with dualband 3G (900/2100), a 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera with LED flash, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.  Meanwhile the Galaxy 3 has a 3.2-inch WQVGA display, 3G, a 3-megapixel autofocus camera, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0.


Samsung’s final new phones for today pick up the not-long-for-this-world Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, with the Samsung Omnia Pro 4 B7350 and Samsung Omnia Pro 5 B6520 each toting full QWERTY keyboards and, on the Pro 4, a touchscreen too.  The Omnia Pro 4 has dualband (900/2100) 3G, a 2.62-inch 320 x 320 touchscreen and a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, while the Omnia Pro 5 has triband (900/1900/2100) 3G, a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 display and a 2-megapixel camera.


LG announced today the debut of their LG Town GT350, a phone with a focus on social networking. Featuring a 3-inch WQVA touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad, it’s the first phone in LG’s new Town Series, all of which focus on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter by using a custom interface that features a live social network feed. Other specs include a 2MP and WiFi support. It’ll be available in four colors — aqua blue, purple, light silver and black.
 

Samsung’s Galaxy S GT-I9000 has finally launched, with the 4-inch Super AMOLED Android 2.1 smartphone hitting Europe first before rolling out to the rest of the world – the US included – later in 2010.  Toting a Samsung 1GHz Hummingbird processor, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, along with 3G/UMTS, TouchWiz 3.0 and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, we’ve been waiting for the Galaxy S for quite some time.

Where the WiMAX dayta plan will cost $10 per month. Another options which will make EVO 4G capable to be used as a hotspot will cost you another $30.
With all these super fancy smartphones leaking every day (like the one made of glass…I mean really, it’s crazy), we need something to cool our jets a little, and Vodafone has just the thing. The Vodafone 845 is the company’s first handset with Google’s open source OS. It features a 2.8-inch, 240×320 touchscreen, 128MB RAM, 3.2MP camera, and 512 MB integrated storage, all running on Android 2.1. Which is to say that it’s not terribly exciting. But it can’t be terribly expensive, either…right? We’ll just have to assume for now.

The Vodafone 845 is available in May. Pricing for the device is currently unavailable.
Blackberry Pearl 3G Unveiled, Two Keypad Options Available

It’s well known that Blackberry fans rival Apple’s most obsessive in their fandom for the smartphone device. Now they have something new to get excited about with today’s announcement of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G. The phone is RIM’s first with 802.11n WiFi support and comes in two different keypad types, one the standard SurePress 20-key, the other a numeric 14-key. Other specs include a 360×400 display, GPS, EDGE/ quadband GSM network support, a 3.2MP camera, and 256MB internal storage w/microSD expansion. It looks like it will be available in a variety of colors besides black, the first official one being white.

Runs on Android 1.5 OS, Dell Aero packs a 3.5-inch capatitive touchscreen display which support multitouch feature. Aero is powered by a 624MHz Marvell processor which is too slow compared to other Android phones.

Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled the BlackBerry Presenter, which is a conveniently small and light device that easily plugs into a projector or monitor, allowing you to display a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation wirelessly from their BlackBerry smartphone.

Measuring 3.4-inch x 2.4-inch x 0.9-inch and weighing 140grams, the BlackBerry Presenter connects to the BlackBerry smartphone via Bluetooth version 2.0 + EDR (Class 1.5), so you can walk around freely while presenting (supports roaming up to 30 feet between the devices). Other features include S-Video, a micro USB, and a Synthetic Leather carrying case. Priced at $199, the BlackBerry Presenter is being demonstrated by RIM at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. .
