Motorola Europe have announced that the long-awaited Android 2.1 update for the Motorola MILESTONE – the European version of the Verizon DROID – is finally available for download.  The impatient can head over to Motorola’s support pages and get it for PC installation, while those with better things to do with their time – or who use a Mac, since Moto don’t seem to offer an OS X version of the firmware updater – can wait a few days for a promised OTA update.

The styling concept bicycle has been designed mainly focusing on aesthetics that may eliminate the prestigious complexity among the users, which is one of the key reasons of disappearing bicycles from the current roads. BMW Snug is a concept design of a car that makes community. This brilliant design by David Raffai, an expert automotive designer, tried to recover the values of community from this car that are slowly vanishing away from the current corporate world. This thesis project has been done in association with the BMW group and the outcome is undoubtedly a simple and fun product specially designed for people who realize personal relationships and are different from others in their feelings and opinions. The most remarkable achievement of this project is the BMW commission highly appreciated the project.

The superb Dacia SHIFT concept car was inspired by the Dacia Duster concept and was specially designed keeping the needs of the young Bucharest residents in mind. This two seater car comprises excellent cutting edge design with a transparent removable roof which will allow the passenger freedom of an open sky even though the roof is closed. The power source of this can either be a lithium-ion battery or electric piles that run by liquid hydrogen. The branding of this car have been furnished in a quite simple and excellent way, Dacia have been placed between the headlights and SHIFT in a larger format underneath.

Solas is a uniquely designed two seater electric car concept that uses inner solar cells as energy source. The inner solar cells are placed into individual hexa structured solar panels and each panel is fabricated with light amplified material to make it more efficient. The hexa structured organization has also the advantage of lessening damage when an accident occurs. The body of Solas is made of transparent materials that ensures easy passing of solar energy.

Nissan has come up with ‘Effis’ which they say is developed with keeping in mind how future urban lifestyle would be. The concept utilizes one of the most advanced technologies and seems Nissan has created the vehicle for the future as it is both use-friendly as well as eco friendly. The vehicle comes with a reconfigurable instrument panel offering 3+1 person seating in a comfortable space. This “rotational instrument panel” extends to provide a rotary table. If two people are in front, the rear seat is utilized for luggage area. If more passengers to accommodate, just push the instrument panel back in, and slide the front passenger seat forward while simply raising the rear seat. There you have ample space for 3 adults and still space left for more!

Car manufacturers have always been interested to explore how the vehicles of the future would be like, but the key remains as to how prepared are we to face the challenge of presenting newer options. We know that BMW always introduces jaw-dropping car concept such as the last post in this blog BMW M1 Homage, but even in our wildest dream we don’t expect to see BMW latest car concept would be made of cloth. BMW Group Design has come up with GINA or Geometry and Functions in “N” Adaptations. BMW Gina Light car concept promotes innovative thinking and allows maximum freedom of creativity. Also BMW has explored the creative options that can be provided rather than probing how the future cars will look like. This car can change shape and surface at the flick of a switch, and the ‘GINA’ principles it espouses have been used to craft today’s BMW design language.

The Eye is an innovative, slim and ultra-lightweight cellphone concept that features a see thru LCD touchscreen with various amazing functionalities. Aside from making calls and watching movies, the intuitive transparent screen enhances the GPS function with follow arrow through the transparent display to your desired destination.

With drastic changes in weather conditions, due to global warming, water is fast becoming a precious necessity that needs to be addressed as well as protected worldwide. Offering a solution, Dutch designer Bas van der Veer has come up with an innovative rain barrel named “A Drop of Water” that possibly filters and stores rainwater in a watering can, which can further be used (not too sure if it is potable) to water your home garden. There is a small tap at the bottom of the barrel that allows controlled watering, without over-spilling or wasting a drop. Featuring a compact design resembling a water drop, the Drop of Water can be installed in smaller gardens or even balconies to collect the rainwater to be used in arid conditions.

Offering a way out for parents carrying babies, designer Lotta Tu has come up with an electricity scooter that doubles as stroller for your babies. Dubbed “Baby-Going,” the scooter cum stroller is an ideal vehicle for short distance traveling.
